Van Beckwith is responsible for the Company’s Legal Department, Global Communications and Marketing, and Government Affairs. He advises Company leaders on all legal matters and is a member of the Company’s Executive Committee.
Before joining Halliburton, Beckwith was Firmwide Chair of Litigation at Baker Botts L.L.P., where he spent three decades managing litigation in some of the largest and most complex cases and arbitrations in the nation and internationally. He also served on the Baker Botts Executive Committee.
Beckwith holds a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University (SMU) and a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and a Fellow of the Texas and Dallas Bar Foundations. He serves on the executive board of the SMU Dedman School of Law.
