Sid Whyte is senior vice president of Eastern Hemisphere Operations at Halliburton. He also serves on the Executive Committee. Previously, he served as senior vice president of the Middle East, North Africa & Asia Pacific region.
Mr. Whyte joined Halliburton in 1980 as a 17-year-old apprentice mechanic in Aberdeen, Scotland. In 1989, he relocated to the Middle East and held roles in field operations for the Tools & Testing product service line.
In 1996, he relocated to the Asia Pacific Region and held a variety of roles managing operations for Tools & Testing, Completion Tools, and Drill Bits & Services. He then served as manager of Testing & Subsea for the Eurasia and Asia Pacific regions.
In 2010, Mr. Whyte became area manager for Angola, and then served as vice president for Angola and Namibia. From 2014 to 2018, he was vice president of Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Whyte passed City & Guilds of London requirements for mechanical engineering in 1982. He is a graduate of Aberdeen Technical College in marine engineering studies for column stabilized mobile drilling units, as well as a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
