- Depleted sandstone oil reservoir in the North Sea
- Horizontal completion with pre-pack screens
- BHT ~200°F
- Wellbore was eventually shut-in as the horizontal drain watered out, 100% watercut (WC)
Solution
- Identify current water oil contact (WOC)
- Isolate production from pre-pack screens: Thermatek®
- Re-perforate above current WOC
Result
- Watercut reduced by more than 90%
- The same process was successfully applied to four wells
